World Affairs Council

The World Affairs Council (WAC) of Philadelphia is a 70 year old organization with the goal of engaging the public on matters of national and international significance. By bringing the Philadelphia community access to influential speakers and providing opportunities to visit and experience different cultures around the world, the Council seeks to create a discourse about our international role as Americans.

Given the gravity of discourse on democracy and internationalism in our current day, the Council needed a website that reflects the relevance of their work. WAC serves many different parts of the community, from hosting speaker events for the general public, to providing resources for educators, organizing Model United Nations competitions, and even offering guided excursions around the world. Functionally, the Council’s website needed to be a versatile, easy to use tool, that caters to a suite of different audiences with unique needs.

I worked closely with our Strategy Lead at P’unk Ave to research the different users of the site and map out wireframes and a site architecture that make the Council’s resources navigable and accessible to its users. I then built the visual design

I worked closely with our Strategy Lead at P’unk Ave to research the different users of the site and map out wireframes and a site architecture that make the Council’s resources navigable and accessible to its users. I then built the visual design to fit this functionality and reflect both the Council’s history of prestige and their contemporary relevance.
