Draw the Lines PA is a nonpartisan resource for Pennsylvanians who want to fight gerrymandering and get involved in their civic community. Draw the Lines provides a toolkit of ways to get involved in the discourse around fair government, educational materials for citizens and teachers, and most importantly, the opportunity to draw your own district map. Our team at P’unk Ave created a website to teach citizens how they can speak out against gerrymandering and partnered with Azavea to integrate a mapping tool that puts the line drawing in the hands of the citizens. Through this process, citizens are able to learn what the criteria are for drawing a voting district map and submit their own version to state representatives.
I worked with our Strategy Lead to design a website that clearly lays out all of the resources Draw the Lines has to offer and create clear paths for taking action. I put this plan into action by creating a new brand system, logo, and site design for the launch of Draw the Lines PA.
